Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Contraception SA collects and how we use it. We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Contraception is a private matter, and we treat it that way.

What this site is

Contraception SA is an information website. It does not run consultations itself. When you choose to start a consultation you are taken to Online Doctor SA, which handles your health information under its own privacy terms.

What we collect

  • Basic analytics, such as pages visited and rough location, to understand what readers find useful.
  • Anything you send us directly, for example an email question.

We do not ask for medical details on this site, and you should not send sensitive health information to us by email.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for analytics and to make the site work. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Links to Online Doctor SA carry a referral tag so that partner can see the visit came from us. That tag does not identify you personally.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask what personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch and we will help. This policy may be updated from time to time.

Start a contraception consultation online

Answer a few questions about your health, have it reviewed by an HPCSA-registered doctor, and if a method suits you, get your prescription dispensed and delivered discreetly. The online consultation covers the pill and the patch. For an IUD or implant, see a clinic in person.
